Photo gallery

This is not a cellphone gallery filled with mobile uploads; I'm a serious photographer who uses a camera to take pictures of the world around me. I am not yet a professional in that I don't make my living off of it, but professional in using the skills God has given me.

I used to be under the "pro" camera craze, i.e. drooling over the biggest and fanciest digital SLRs on the market. Thankfully I've calmed down quite a bit, and realized that professional equipment will certainly expand what you are able to do, but someone with artistic vision and a crap camera can make beautiful images. I began with a Fuji Quicksnap disposable camera, then when my mom purchased a Minolta Dimage Z1, I became entranced with the easy
after-the-fact manipulation that digital provides. I even stepped up to the wonderful Nikon D90 for a while, and had a blast with it. After seeing for myself the advantages of film, I came back around to the 35mm format with a Nikon N80 (F80 in Europe), only $60 on Ebay. Considering I paid more than 10X as much for the D90, this was a steal.

For those who want to see what different films and lenses look like, I've labeled each photo with the film (if applicable), lens, and camera used. Just keep in mind that I color correct when needed, so these are generally not what you'd get from the straight scan. If you would like to own a large print of one of my photos, don't hesitate to contact me! Most are up for sale, but some, like the People album, are not since I don't have model releases for them. Thank you!
